The Soul of Dance Company Düren, Germany

 

 

I started working at The Soul of Dance Company in April 2013 and built up an intensive ballet training according to Russian methodology in Vaganova technique. Now we are working with 2 different levels: beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced so we can provide barre, floor barre and centre work for every member and associates of the company. As the pupils come from several disciplines I can include everything for their needs in the training. Especially for soloists we have a selection group for young talents. In order to get access to the selection group the young dancers must be invited by company head teacher Petra Antoinette Budinger to join the concise coaching sessions.

"The exploratory and creative approach to one's own personality in dance requires an wholistic approach. Dance as such allows the dancer to feel "at home" in the body. As dance is not just a matter of technique and style - the Company interprets "dance" with their own feelings, moods, illusions, fantasies, improvisations, dreams and aspirations. Enjoyment and fun are part of the art of dance as well, just like discipline and concentration. Our dance styles, such as classical ballet, have a clearly defined technique and come to life by the exchange of different styles, acrobatics and acting. Especially in show dance and dance theater pieces choreographies are designed in order to integrate thoughtful and lyrical elements as well as fast and peppy ones, which really leave the stage floor shaking!"
